V. Hariraam
(B.1948)V. Hariraam is a distinguished Indian artist whose work spans a variety of media, including painting and printmaking. He graduated from the University of Mysore in 1974 and completed a Diploma in Art (Drawing and Painting) from Kalamandir School of Art in Bangalore between 1975 and 1980. His interest in printmaking led him to further studies at the Graphic Studios of the Regional Centre, Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai, from 1990 to 1993.
Hariraam's art has been showcased both nationally and internationally. His exhibitions include prestigious events like the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London (1982), the National Exhibition of Art in New Delhi (1983), and the International Independent Exhibition of Prints in Kanagawa, Japan (1990). He also exhibited at significant global art venues, such as the 11th Mini Princ International de Cadaques in Spain, International Print Exhibitions in Taiwan (1991), Italy, and Romania (2003), and Graphic Expressions at Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai (2000). Additionally, his works were displayed at Time & Space Art Gallery in Bangalore and India Habitat Centre in New Delhi (2005), and the Exhibition of Indian Contemporary Art at Prakrit Arts and Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (2005).
Hariraam's work has been acquired by notable institutions, including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, the National Museum in Botswana, Stad Museum in Burnico, Italy, and various museums across Romania and Turkey. His artworks are also part of the collections of the Lalit Kala Akademi, and state galleries in Karnataka, Chennai, and New Delhi.
Hariraam currently divides his time between Mumbai and Chennai, continuing to create art that resonates with global audiences through its deep expression and international appeal.
