Publishers original heavy red cloth gilt binding, extensive gilt decoration on front cover back cover decorated in blind, title in gilt on cover and spine. Excellent, almost mint, hard to find in such good condition.
As an Administrative Medical Officer Hendley visited nearly all the living Chiefs in Rajputana apart from the native rulers, Hendley describes the British colonial authorities such as the Viceroy of the time, the previous Governors-Generals of India, etc. Fine monochrome and chromolithographed plates of the British and nearly all Indian rulers of Rajpootana since the end of the sixteenth century.
