Excellent condition

James Rattray, a lieutenant in the 2nd Grenadiers Bengal Army, served during the First Afghan War of 1839 to 1842. The skilfully coloured illustrations made from Rattray's meticulous and lively studies include portraits of Emir Dost Muhammad Khan, Kandahar Lady of Rank, Ladies of Kabul, Ghiljye Women, Atmaran, Afghan soldiers and tribesmen, views of Kabul, Kandahar, Mosque and Tomb of Sultan Mahmood of Ghuznee, as well as other topography.
