In the Indian social context, many life events, from birth to death, leave a deep impact on individuals. The artist has tried to capture these rites and traditions in his paintings. At its core, the essence of this artwork is the union of the soul with the divine. It is believed that while the body perishes, the soul does not. After the cremation, the ritual of immersing the ashes involves releasing the earthen pot into the river, where it settles at the riverbed. The central theme of this painting is the prayer for the soul’s ultimate union with the divine after the body merges with the five elements.
According to Hindu beliefs, different rites and rituals mark various stages of life, each holding its own significance.
