Sport & Travel in both Tibets

Blades, East & Blades. First edition, Large 4to, PP 87, 25 colored plates, 1 folding map, original blue cloth binding.
A collection of Lady Jenkins' illustrations during her trips to Tibet. This scarce first edition of 'Sport & Travel in Both Tibets' was written from Lady Jenkins' diary entries from her four month trip to Tibet, and is accompanied by her own sketches from the trip. Lady Catherine Minna Jenkins was an experienced hunter who lived in Bombay with her husband, Sir Lawrence Hugh Jenkins, who was a judge. In 1906 she went to Tibet for four months to hunt, where she hunted mountain sheep, gazelle, and antelope. She was unique during her time for being one of the only Edwardian women who set out on solidarity hunting expeditions.
