A Mughal style ‘Satalara Haar’ Seven-stranded pearl necklace

Important necklace composed of strands of pearls with drop-shaped gold pendants set with Emerald and rubies and a central flower-shaped gold pendant worked in the kundan technique and set with diamonds. The back finely decorated with champleve enamels. Terminals similarly decorated with floral motifs.
In the early 19th century Cartier began to produce necklaces of this type for the Indian market.
