Originally published in 2 volumes in 1832, this is a one-volume edition, pp. xvi, 367 with a folding map at the end + 16 full-page lithographic plates.
Mundy (1804-1860) served in India as aide-de-camp to Lord Combermere. He travelled through Benares, Lucknow, the Taj Mahal, Simla and Delhi with Lord Combermere in 1827-28. The charming plates are made after drawings by the author himself, of which many depict elephant and tiger scenes.
