Published by: Thomas Nelson & Sons. 4to., with 44 Illustrations and 3 coloured maps, one of Greece in the late nineteenth century, two of Ancient Greece. PP 400, The illustrations (almost certainly engravings from photographs) include the Lion Gate at Mycenae, the Vale of Tempe, the Athenian Acropolis, Sicyon and many more. Manage to give a real feel for what the landscape was like in the nineteenth century. Full tree calf leather binding, title in gilt on spine monogram of the school library in gilt on front cover.
