Mohan Singh [1909-89] was the one who, with the Japanese assistance, set up the Indian National Army comprising the volunteers among the soldiers who had surrendered during World War II in Malaya and Singapore. This subsequently emerged as Azad Hind Fauj with the arrival of Subhas Chandra Bose.
