Signed copy of a murder mystery Princess Gayatri Devi of Cooch Behar (later Maharani of Jaipur) was reading at the age of 17.
Signed on the flyleaf thus: GAYATRI OF COOCH BEHAR (AYESHA) 1936. There have been many books of her memoir signed as presentation copies but this book is possessed and signed by the most beautiful royal of India under her rare maiden name, with her pet name Ayesha added by her in brackets. She married in 1940 to Maharaja of Jaipur.

Condition: Flyleaf with signature clean. Original pale green cloth a little worn and soiled, spine somewhat faded.
