Dilip Kumar as Devdas is still remember for his method acting. In some of his interviews Dilip Kumar said that he was hesitant to play Devdas as it could mislead youth.
This film is based on the Sarad Chandra novel called Devdas and was a big hit from all perspectives. Its highly skilled cinematography and lighting enhanced the emotional torment of the male and female protagonist.
