This lot depicts a monochromatic view of 'Ghat' which has riverfront steps leading to the bank of river, people at the ghat are busy in there daily activities. In this square composition artist has skillfully created a juxtaposition between minimalisitic yet solid background and crowded foreground. There is an architecture of gateway topped by small 'cupolas' with empty sky in the background whereas tiny human figures and boats crowded the foreground. The monochromatic yellow tone of this work also has some hint of green, red and brown. This work gives us a glimpse of ghat during sunrise.
