Size: 25.9 x 21.7 cm (10 x 8.5 inches)

First edition, 2 vols, 4to, pp. xiii, 411; ii, 123, xii, 461. Contemporary half leather over marbled paper boards, title in gilt on spine, gilt decoration on spine. Good condition.
Scott served as Persian Secretary to Warren Hastings. He was also the founding member of the Asiatic Society of Bengal before returning to England in 1785 where he completed this translation.
