Published by Macmillan and Co. Ltd.,. First edition, 8vo, PP vi+576, 1 color plate, original red canvas binding, gilded elephant picture on front cover, title in gilt on spine. Good condition.

The 'Jungle Books' is a collection of short stories, the best-known being the three tales revolving around the adventures of the abandoned 'man cub' Mowgli who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The most famous of the other stories are probably 'Rikki-Tikki-Tavi', the story of a heroic mongoose, and 'Toomai of the Elephants', the tale of a young elephant-handler.
