The work depicts a famous subject of Bengal school called 'Ganesh Janani. The Goddess is seated on a throne, with on attendant on her left in the background. The infant God Ganesha sits breastfeeding on her lap, painted classically with a white head and rubby body. The goddess, who look back at the viewers, is comparable in design to Madonna in European Christian paintings showing nursing Merry.
The yellowish skin tone of figures highlighted through the dark background. The woman figures depicted with broad body, elaborate crown and royal blue colour drape.
