This colourful two dimensional composition is inspired with the early Indian miniature painting especially miniature works created during the reign of Mughal emperor Akbar.
The subject of this work is really interesting as we can see a craftsman making white marble nameplates for the Bengal School artist. There are few name plates around the working area of this craftsman shows names written on it like, Nandlal Bose, Abanindrath Tagore and Priya Proshad Gupta (creator of this particular painting).
In the background woman making food and she is shown as an onlooker similar to Mughal miniature painting. Other elements like the tree’s branch with flowers and leaves frame these two figures or subject in this flat composition.
