Contemporary full crimson morocco, covers with extensive gilt decoration with Greek key pattern panel, spine gilt, gilt edges.

Early issue with plates watermarked J Whatman 1802.

The views include of Seringapatam, Bangalore, Mysore and the surrounding countryside.

James Hunter was a Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery under Cornwallis during the Third Anglo-Mysore War where British and Company troops defeated the Tipu Sultan.
