KUMAR RANJIT SINGH JI SIGNED CRICKET LONDON COUNTY LICENSE ISSUED
Year: 1903Size: 7 x 5.2 cm (2.7 x 2 inches)
A rare, original 1903 London County Cricket Club membership and fixture card, numbered 591, associated with the esteemed cricketer Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji (1872–1933). Known for his significant contributions to cricket, Ranji played for Cambridge University, Sussex, London County, and represented England from 1893 to 1920.
This unique folding card features maroon leather covers adorned with gilt titles and emblems on both the front and back. The interior contains the printed first-class fixtures for the 1903 season, with Ranji's personal annotation and signature in ink. Although the covers display some wear and the inscription and signature show slight fading, the card remains in good condition overall.
This particular piece is notable not only for its association with one of cricket's legendary figures but also due to its scarcity—such a London County membership card, especially bearing Ranji’s signature, has not been previously encountered by the auctioneer. An extremely rare and highly sought-after collectible that embodies the legacy of one of cricket's most revered icons.
