A SUPERB QUALITY COLLECTORS PIECE MADE TO THE HIGH STANDARDS FOR WHICH THE PUBLISHERS ARE RENOWNED A DAY IN THE LIFE by award-winning photo-journalist, Michael Ward, introduces rare photographs that capture 24 hours with The Beatles on February 19, 1963 - a day of singular historical importance, since The Beatles discovered they had achieved their first UK No.1 single. An acclaimed photo-journalist, Michael Ward took his photographs of The Beatles as a commission for the Sixties magazine, Honey. Ward's photographs of The Beatles on the cusp of Beatlemania beautifully portray the band strolling through the streets and along the docks of Liverpool, at Brian Epstein's NEMS offices, even rehearsing and performing one of their final gigs at The Cavern. The limited edition set presents 24 large-format lithographs created from Ward's bromide prints which were made using four-colour inks printed on heavyweight archival paper, suitable for framing (43 cm x 32 cm). The prints were published for the first time, made solely for this edition. Each print is fully acrylic varnished and certified with an embossed Michael Ward signature. Accompanying the artwork, a 64-page hand-signed and numbered book with 2075 words and 24 images tells the story of one winter day spent with The Beatles in Liverpool. An annotated, hand-drawn map of the area provides the key to the day's events and sets the original location of every image. Printed on to heavyweight uncoated cream paper in three special inks. Each book is individually numbered and handsigned by the photographer. It carries an essay featuring Michael Ward's recollections of that extraordinary February 19th in 1963, with illustrative plates and informative captioning details throughout. In just 24 hours, Ward had amassed anincredible collection of photographs of four young men whose lives were about to change and whose faces were about to become some of the most recognisable on earth - a band on the cusp of their first UK chart success, unaware of the unprecedented stardom about to befall them. The photographer, Michael Ward, is an award-winning photo-journalist with an over thirty year career with both The London Evening Standard and The Sunday Times. With only a small number of 750 copies manufactured ofthis amazing portfolio, it is already virtually impossible to find copies, with most having disappeared quickly into private collections.
