This work depicts probably a character known as Eklavya from the Mahabharata. Eklavya was a Bhil boy who became a skilled archer by practicing before a statue of Guru Dronacharya. He offered his thumb as a fee to Dronacharya, who blessed him. The painting portrays a dark-skinned tribal archer in a lush forest setting. Crouching in a half kneeling position, the archer is poised to release an arrow from his bow.
He wears a headdress and minimal clothing, suggesting a connection to nature. The background is filled with vibrant foliage, hinting at a tropical environment. The archer seems focused and determined, capturing a moment of intense concentration.
