This is a still life painting, depicting flower vase with curtains typical subject painted by the western school's artists. Artist has created challenging combination of textures and colours within the shallow picture space the flowers are dramatically presented against a dark velvet curtain, subtly distinguished from the glazed surface of the black glazed vase, with the flowers spot lit as on a stage.

The variety and colour combination of flowers evokes a sense of excitement. However, the asymmetrical fall of off-white curtain along the right side helping to maintain the source of light in this isolated still space. This work can be declared as an excellent piece of still life genre because it is a perfect example of balance.
