Ompal Sansanwal
(B. 1964)Ompal Sansanwal, born in 1964, is an Indian artist known for his unique and complex artistic style. He graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata in 1987 and 1992, respectively.
Sansanwal's works are widely recognized for their intricate and labyrinth-like maze of colors that form the core of his artistic expression. His paintings often feature figurative elements seamlessly merging with geometric backgrounds, highlighting the intertwining of nature and the human being. This fusion of forms and colors draws attention to the complex connections between the individual and the surrounding environment, inviting viewers to explore the deeper layers and stories embedded within his works.
His works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, including shows at Arushi Arts in New Delhi (2002, 2005, and 2007), the Museum Gallery in Mumbai (2006), LTG Gallery in New Delhi (1995, 1996, 1999), and Shridharani Gallery in New Delhi (1989). He has also participated in several group exhibitions, including those at the Nehru Center in London (2003-2007) and a show of Indian Contemporary Art held in Yugoslavia in 2004.
